First off, new layout and logo! Really want to start using this blog more, so here it goes. I thought I would start writing up posts in relation to my guild’s progression in Siege of Orgrimmar. Back story: the old guild I was raiding with was not progressing past h nazgrim and a friend mentioned his guild to me. After chatting with the guildmaster I ended up moving over to Stormage and going Alliance. Killed the bosses my old guild couldn’t kill and then waited until the guild killed H Garrosh, after the boss was killed I was asked to recruit and the guild went 25man. This was barely a month ago. Now we are 12/14 H for 25man :) So anyways, I thought I’d start writing up posts on specific boss fights.

Sunday we managed to kill H Siegecrafter Blackfuse in 25man. The best part of the night was it was Sunday and no one had any expectations of killing the boss, least I didn’t. We also had someone quit after being called out for standing in stuff and dying, and then about 3-4 pulls later (and last pull of the night) the boss died. YAY boss kill and loot (although I didn’t get any, but others did!). Here is my talent breakdown and glyphs, note this if for 25man.

talents

These are pretty much my default talent choices for healing, unless I need to swap my level 90 talent. I pretty much always have Void Tendrils, but it comes in handy on this fight if you need to root mines. For the level 45 talent in 10man I’d use mindbender or solace, I just like the extra heal in 25man. The 90 talent I recommend is Divine Star depending on what strategy your guild uses. Mine has ranged stacked with one another the entire fight so I chose DS. There is one main talent I highly recommend using.

I HIGHLY recommend Spectral Guise for this fight. If a priest (doesn’t just have to be disc of course!) is targeted by a saw blade you can use this ability and it won’t land. It comes in handy when it comes to cluttering up the ground with saw blades and it’s one less someone can derp and play ping pong with. Now for glyphs

glyphs

Once again the 2 main glyphs (penance and holy fire) are my main default glyphs that I use. I also like to use Glyph of Fade on this fight purely for the extra damage reduction (10%) on myself. Although I forgot to use it on our kill because I am horrible. I like using it during Overcharged and Electromagnet (when you constantly change directions and may get in a fight with a saw blade or 2).

Now when it comes to actually healing this fight it’s pretty straight forward. For this fight I chose to use my DPS cloak over the healing cloak for the extra damage on mines and just because it’s not very healing intensive. I tried to get stacks of Evanglism up as quickly as possible so I could AA+DS the first sawblade (because people fail at moving). Right before Superheated I usually have AA up again and try to get Spirit Shell up on ranged before it hits just in case people once again stand in it after I cast DS. Overall the fight is not very healing intensive and it’s very predictable. Just have to coordinate some cool downs for things like Electromagnet (I usually set my barrier down for people to stand in) and for overloads (try to get SS up before it goes off!) and it’s good game :)

If you have any additional suggestion or questions about this encounter (normal or heroic) please leave a comment below! Will try to continue doing this for the last 2 heroic bosses. (423 views)
